Find The Best Local

Enjoy Your Public Library

I love to read! My husband and son also love to read! We have spent hours (and hundreds of dollars) at the big book stores?.

While there are certainly books that you will want (or need) to own, such as collectible books, scholarly books (in which you will be highlighting or underlining), or reference books which you will want to go back to again and again, there are many books that you can borrow from your local Public Library, free of charge!

Rather than spending $7 on that new paperback crime novel, why not borrow one from the library? You know it will only take a week or two for you to read it, and then what? You'll throw it away, lend it to someone, or it will collect dust on a shelf for several years before being donated.

My husband even borrows the afore-mentioned 'scholarly books', taking notes on a notepad while reading. Books that he knows he will need to refer back to, he purchases at the book store.

Not only will the library save you money, and help in all of our recycling efforts, it is also a fun place to visit! In a recent class assignment, my son indicated his 'favorite place to visit' as the library! There really is something for everyone: Novels, non-fiction, videos, CDs, magazines, and newspapers. There are also art and history exhibits, special events, and arts and crafts for the kids!

So, the next time you think about going out and buying some books, try the library first?you might be surprised at what you will find!
