Attracting Wild Life to Your Yard
Would you like to attract interesting wild life to your yard? No, I'm not talking about throwing a big backyard party?There are ways to attract various types of living creatures to your yard and garden.
You can attract birds by placing bits of string, ribbon, hair, and other materials in a mesh bag, and hanging it outside on a tree or shrub. Birds will visit to take bits from the bag with which to make their nests. If you're lucky, they may make a nest near your house, where you will be able to observe the construction of the nest, and possibly even the laying (and hatching) of eggs.
Another way to attract birds is with a traditional bird bath, or even a sand or dirt bird bath.
To attract butterflies, try planting bright, scented, open blooms. The butterflies will be drawn to the easy to access nectar by the bright colors and lovely scent.
